Physics Olympic Project Day

  • Physics Olympic project day - two students working with equipment

On Thursday 12 July, a group of Year 9 students spent the day working on experiments usually completed by first year University of Birmingham School of Physics and Astronomy students.

They worked in three teams investigating friction across pipes, sound waves in resonance tubes and the line spectra of hydrogen and helium. The students collected and analysed their results and presented them to a judge.

They had a great insight into university level physics and had the opportunity to work with university students.
